Meet Sara — a seasoned ER and trauma nurse with over 8 years of experience and a passion for helping people feel, perform, and recover at their best.

A former collegiate athlete and current Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitor, Sara understands firsthand the physical demands of training, competition, and everyday life. Her background in high-acuity emergency medicine, combined with her athletic experience, fuels her commitment to smart recovery, injury prevention, and maximizing performance. While she loves working with athletes of all levels, Sara is equally passionate about expanding wellness services to all — because everyone deserves to feel their best.

Born and raised in Kansas City, Sara is deeply committed to serving the community she calls home. She’s a die-hard Chiefs fan who loves attending local sporting events and spending time out and about with friends. Outside of work, you can find her with her husband, Nico, and their golden retriever, Gracie, whether at the park, on a hike, or enjoying everything KC has to offer.

My name is Chase and I can’t wait to meet you! I went to nursing school at Avila University after getting a bachelors in psychology from K-State.

I still work bedside in the ER at a level one trauma center, but on my other days I love meeting new LUX clients, or see some familiar faces.

Giving clients an IV, or injection, to feel like their best selves is refreshing. If you’re nervous about needles or how you may feel, don’t worry one bit. I’ll talk you through it all and make sure you feel as comfortable as can be!

Shannon’s vision for creating LUX was based in her experience both in trauma ER and cardiovascular ICU. When she’s not working, you can find Shannon spending time outdoors!
